The process of modelling and the use of models both range from straightforward and accessible to enormously complex, requiring very high levels of skills with modelling tools. This course is necessarily an introduction to a wide ranging and fascinating area of study, which is poorly understood, and poorly taught in schools.

The course is targeted at the 9-13 age range, so relevant to both primary and secondary teachers. Examples will be taken from a number of curriculum areas; modelling is by no means the preserve of the ICT specialist.
